Medea Reads King Pig

King Pig by Nick BlandMedea reads King Pig by Nick Bland.

King Pig thinks he can make the sheep do whatever he wants, but he can’t make them like him. He doesn’t understand it. Why don’t the sheep adore him like they should? The bossy King thinks he is doing everything he should to endear himself to his subjects, but when a small voice suggests that he should try being nice, he has to rethink his attitude.

There are two takes to this story (only the final one is posted here). Medea wanted to try again after the first take and, of course, leave it to me to break Tanit’s bed during the second go 🙂

This is also the book that Medea read to the class in Grade 3 with prompts to generate discussion with her peers.

King Pig by Nick Bland

King Pig is King over a flock of sheep. He literally walks all over them.

King Pig Royalty

Although the long suffering sheep comply to King Pig’s demands, King Pig is disgruntled. They don’t adore him. King Pig sets about to make the sheep adore him, to no avail.

Nobody Likes King Pig

Finally, after a gentle challenge to try being nice, King Pig feels something he’s never felt before, he felt sorry. After this revelation he tries to make amends, which wasn’t perfect, but the sheep agreed it was a pretty good start. This was a hilarious read!
