Supergirl and Wonder Woman Saving the World – One Candy at a Time!

Every Halloween is a fun one but this year had a certain something going on. May be it’s because I love comic books or maybe it’s just because the girls looked so awesome but, bottom line, this year’s outing was pretty fun.A little over a month prior to Halloween, I introduced Medea to Wonder Woman – the Lynda Carter televison shows that aired from 1975-1979. Along with the Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, this show was (and still is) one of my all-time favourites. We had watched a little bit of it before but Medea really took to it this time. I knew she would. At that point I asked if she wanted to be Wonder Woman for Halloween. She said she did. Game on.

Halloween Letter (2012)

The question now was…”What would Tanit be?”

Momma and I looked at each other and agreed pretty quick…Supergirl. Tanit was stoked.

Momma went shopping shortly thereafter and found 2 awesome costumes for each hero.

At first, Medea didn’t care for her. It was an adults and, as such, a bit big. Momma bought it this way not only because it was 400 types of awesome, but because some warm clothes could be factored in without sacrificing “the look”. Medea didn’t see it that way at first and even said that it wasn’t something she’d be wearing. In fact, she said that she would give up trick or treating this year if this was to be the costume she’d wear…..

We certainly hoped that this would not be the case and decided to give it some time.

Wonder Woman Logo TVFlash forward to October 31st – Halloween. The pumpkins were carved, the house decorated, and the scene set for another awesome Halloween.

Tanit’s Costume was relatively simple to put on, but oh so awesome in the end. I couldn’t get over how accurate and well made it was. The “S” symbol was embroidered, not stuck on, and it came with all of the necessary accessories: cape, belt, boot covers, etc.

Medea’s, too, was absolutely amazing and she was stoked to put it on! Yay! Momma gave it a few tweaks, stitched the cape to a thermal shirt to keep her warm, adjusted the tiara, and bound her in the boustier component so that it was nice and tight to her body. She looked phenomenal!

They both did!

Halloween Night (2012)

My “Dynamic Duo” was ready to take to the streets. We had so much fun playing super hero. I’m looking forward to making a few more movies with them in their costumes.

Happy Halloween
